Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions.

FireDash is a BYOD (bring your own data) platform. We recommend conducting an initial inspection using our mobile application and your standard inspection processes to obtain the GPM and other data to enter into the FireDash mobile application.

Yes! We have a built-in data importer that lets you import the fire hydrant or other data you already have into your account. We can also help you import your data — just open a support ticket.

No. The monthly subscription fee is all you pay to use FireDash. There are no hidden fees, ever. Each subscription tier includes a set number of users and devices to start, but we can raise that limit on a case-by-case basis — contact us for details.

FireDash is your web dashboard for managing your account, fire hydrants, settings, and the other features included in your subscription. You can access FireDash from any modern desktop or mobile web browser.

You can assign User Roles to any user at any time from the Employees tab. At this time only the Firefighter role cannot access FireDash, but it can sign in through the mobile applications.

Create a free account on the Developer Portal at developer.firedash.us, then create an app to receive your API key. Usage is free in development and billed by response volume in production.

RiskDash provides fire, environmental, and property risk-assessment tools, checklists, and PDF reports for insurance, construction, and EHS teams. Create a free account at risk.firedash.us — run assessments for free, and pay per report only when you generate a verifiable PDF certificate.

Yes. Residents can look up their nearest fire hydrant and report a problem for free. The Insurance Distance Proof certificate is a one-time, per-report purchase (about $14.99) — once you buy a report it stays downloadable from My certificates, with no expiry. A separate FireDash Premium subscription adds hydrant tracking, status notifications, and priority support.

FireDash Insured is the home-inventory product: catalog your property and possessions with photos and receipts, then generate a professional Home Inventory Report with an INS- code anyone can confirm at verify.firedash.us. It uses the same FireDash account as FireDash for Residents, and is available on the web, iOS, and Android.

WaterDash answers one question for a property: is there enough water to fight a fire there? It compares the available fire flow (from hydrant flow tests, NFPA 291) against the needed fire flow for the building (ISO PPC or IFC Appendix B), and can issue a verifiable Water Supply Adequacy Certificate. It also includes 24 water calculators and 5 field checklists.

No. Fire-flow checks, the 24 water calculators, and the 5 checklists are free with an account, and one property is included. Certificates are pay-per-report — you only pay when you issue one. WaterDash Premium adds the distribution map, the flow-test scheduler, checklist PDFs, and multiple properties.

Three: FireDash (hydrant management, with a Residential Mode for homeowners), RiskDash (property risk assessment), and FireDash Insured (home inventory). All three are on the App Store and Google Play — firedash.mobi links to the right store for your device.

Go to verify.firedash.us and enter the certificate number printed on the document. It verifies Insurance Distance Proof (FD-), RiskDash (RD-), Water Supply Adequacy (WD-), and Home Inventory (INS-) certificates against a tamper-evident hash. It is free and needs no account.

One FireDash account covers the resident-side products — FireDash for Residents, FireDash Insured, RiskDash, and WaterDash. FireDash for Organizations is separate (you sign in with a User ID, Password, and Agency ID), and the Developer Portal has its own account.
