The Insurance Distance Proof is an official FireDash certificate stating how far your property is from its nearest fire hydrant, with the hydrant details, the measurement method, and a tamper-evident code your insurer can verify.
Generate one
- Sign in at resident.firedash.us and make sure your home address is correct in your profile — the certificate is built from it.
- Open your dashboard or Find a hydrant, pick the hydrant the proof should cite (normally the nearest), and choose Insurance Distance Proof.
- Review the preview, then complete the one-time purchase for that report.
One purchase per report
- Each proof is a one-time, per-report purchase — one property and hydrant combination per report. There is no subscription requirement.
- Once purchased, the report stays available: reopen or re-download it any time from My certificates. It does not expire.
- Generating a proof for a different property or a different hydrant is a separate report.
What your insurer sees
- The certificate number (FD-…), issue date, property and hydrant addresses, the distance and how it was measured, and the hydrant status and flow on file.
- Anyone can confirm it at verify.firedash.us — see Verify a FireDash certificate.
- Where a hydrant record came from a resident rather than the servicing agency, the certificate marks that provenance rather than presenting it as agency-verified.
